Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. Names New Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
NEWBURGH, NY – Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. has named Sandra “Sandi” Cassese, RN, MSN, CNS as executive vice president and chief operating officer. “Sandi’s contribution as Executive VP and COO will enable her to make essential decisions for our agency to ensure our mission in providing our patients and families with compassionate physical, emotional, and spiritual end-of-life care and further the facility’s goals of treating every patient with comfort, dignity, and respect,” said Dan Grady, President & CEO.
Cassese joined Hospice of Orange and Sullivan Counties, Inc. over three years ago with an extensive background in healthcare. Cassese’s previous qualifications include healthcare and leadership experience in clinical operations, strategic planning, program development, business, and regulatory compliance, and much more. She has previously held a position of System Vice President of Oncology at Health Quest Hospital System and earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from The State University of New York at New Paltz and a Master’s in Community Health from Sage Graduate Health.
Sandi Cassese recalls her experience as an advocate for improved quality in healthcare. “I believe in advocacy because I’ve witnessed the positive changes that occur when ordinary people like me get involved,” Cassese states. “Hope isn’t a strategy, but personal action is. As a registered nurse, I may not wear my starched cap any longer, but I always wear my advocacy hat knowing that in my role I have a responsibility to be an influencer.”
Cassese’s advocacy has led to a volunteering career with the American Cancer Society for more than 25 years and a position of Vice-Chair of the American Cancer Society Action Network National Board of Directors. She also serves as a member of the Society’s New York City Area Board.
