Compassion Award Created in Gratitude of Hospice Care.

In May 2018, Maureen Terwilliger passed away after a twelve-year cancer battle. Her husband Dave valiantly shared his experience publicly as both a caregiver and spouse during the months Maureen and family received hospice care.

The Maureen Terwilliger Compassion Award is the idea of Dave Terwilliger. So full of gratitude for the amazing care offered to Maureen, himself and sons, he wanted to commend the selfless compassion they received from their hospice care team.

The Compassion Award is given annually honoring those individuals who go above and beyond. Demonstrating devotion, dedication, tenderheartedness, dependability and perseverance to the patients of Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Inc. Recipients are chosen by their peers and are awarded at the Hospice Annual Staff and Volunteer Recognition Dinner held each year in November.

The Terwilliger family, has graciously donated their beautiful condo for a weeks stay of winners choice, during the 2020 season at Sea Colony Wyndham Resort, Bethany Beach DE.  The proceeds of this raffle will fund the Maureen Terwilliger Hospice Compassion Award for years to come.
