A Tree Grows for HOSPICE

On April 22, 2009 Central Hudson Gas & Electric Corporation donated a tree to Hospice of Orange & Sullivan Counties, Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in celebration of Earth Day. Paul Tesoro, Director of Corporate Communications came up with the idea of partnering with the Orange County Chamber of Commerce and a local Arborist who would pick an appropriate tree and do the honors of the planting. “I am pleased that this tree is going to Hospice, because Hospice is about life, so what is more fitting than to plant this tree here at The Kaplan Family Residence”, said Paul Tesoro. Craig Pelsue, owner of Expert Lawn Care & Landscaping, Inc. picked the perfect tree, a Quanson Cherry to grace the already beautiful landscape of the residence. On hand for the planting ceremony was Dr. John D’Ambrosio, President of the Orange County Chamber of Commerce, Paul Tesoro and Stephen Burger of Central Hudson, Gail Burton, C.O.O of Hospice, Sue Martino, Hospice Residence Director, board members, staff, patients and family members. A small reception followed catered by the residence Chef, Colin McAllister.
