Joe and Mary Bonura Honored in Springtime Fashion

Joe and Mary Bonura being honoredJoe and Mary Bonura long-time community and Hospice supporters were honored at the 2017 Hospice Bow Ties and Bouquets Spring Gala. The event was held at Anthony’s Pier 9 where the brilliant and amazing talents of Michael Bonura and David Recine, of Flowers by David Anthony, came together to create a magical spring time paradise even mother nature herself would be proud of.

Friends, Family and Hospice supporters dined and danced the night away in honor of the good works of Hospice and the Bonura’s.

Because of the continued support of our auction donors, sponsors and supporters, the Hospice annual gala continues to be a huge success and this year alone, the fundraising event netted  $101,000 for Hospice to help ensure the specialized end of life and bereavement care for our communities across Orange and Sullivan Counties.

When Mary spoke at the gala, she told of the work she has done for Hospice, not only as a Board Member and Founding Member of Friends of Hospice, formerly the Hospice Auxiliary, but of the amazing work she does as a Certified Hospice Volunteer and Vigil Volunteer. This is the work that fills her heart and  in her words “gives so much more back to her than she can possibly give” to those patients at the end of life and their families.  As Chairman of the Board,  the Hon. Jeffrey Berry stated, “Mary’s service as a Hospice Volunteer, Board Member and dedication to Friends of Hospice, has set a standard of personal commitment to Hospice that few have been able to achieve.”
